Science Experament



Last week The year 7's and 6's did a science experiment called marble milk we had to go in groups of 3 and 2's once we had our partners we got a saucer, Next one of our people in our group got some milk and poured it in the saucer,  After we had to get 3 types of food colouring and dab just a little bit only two times with our 3 food colouring's. After we got the camera's and go ready to record what happens, Once Mrs dines added dish washing liquid into the saucer with the milk and food colouring all the colours went moving everywhere and made like it just zoomed out (No words can describe it because it was beautiful)

If you want to try this yourself you will need a supervisor once you add the food colouring so it won't go on your clothes.

The month rhythm!

Last Last Thursday my friend Roneeza and I forgot how many days there were in in November we kept on fighting because I thought it was the 31st of November but Roneeza said it was the 30th so we decided to check the month rhythm

This is how you say it
30 days has September, April, June and November 
When short February is done
Then all the rest is 31

Its a really cool rhythm and its not that hard to remember!

My Goals and Achievements:


Reading::
My Achievement in reading is that I Achieved learning new and interesting words.
But what my Goal is that is I want to start reading long interesting books that make me or help me to
learn more interesting and useful words.


Writing:
My Achievement  in writing is that I my writing is getting better and I write more
describing words.But my Goal in Writing is that I want to write even more describing and information
words and I also want to write or type down interesting words so people can get interested in it and start
commenting on my work that I had interesting stuff on it.


Math:
My Achievement in maths is that I started doing higher divisions and times and I also
start doing addition with metres and decimals and fractions and half them and subtract them and add
them in different ways by the help of khan academyBut my goal in Maths is that I want to go up to higher
ones and learn them so I know and start to answer math equations faster.

Astria game

After playing the game (Astria) I started to enjoy it but I got bummed out when I finished because it was just getting to the good part. The good part was that me and my partner got to chose 4 different ways to stop a meteor which was awesome. I also thought it was a tiny bit boring because there was a lot of writing, talking, and things to do but I guess that's what happens when your in a meteor attack

I got confused most of the time because I didn't know most of the words that was in the game (Astria) like Bias, Factual, and Source but then a women (from a high school) showed me this google slide and I saw what Bias, Factual, and source mean!

Advent

What is advent ?
Advent is a time when people celebrate the birth of Jesus and the same for the return of Jesus


How can people use Advent to open ourselves and let Jesus become a bigger part of us?.


All of us can start to listen to what,teachers and adults say to us and start to not daydream.
Also people can start to say nice words and not fight or they can stop swearing a lot, punching
a lot, and to stop slapping a lot


How can all of us achieve all this?


All of us can start to obey the teachers and start to have PROPER rests and
start to not look at something (like a bird) and just stare at it until it moves,
and just start to ignore it and look straight at the teacher (like your having
a staring contest


Also people can start saying nice words and nice things about people like,
your beautiful,pretty,handsome! Instead of your ugly,smelly,not smart! Also
we can try to not hit people like to not punch,kick,and pick tongues at them
for no reasons at all


THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE IS:
We need to start being HONEST and not lie


These are the reasons how we can use the examples of advent to bring ourselves together.

My Writing

My Actual Writing

Two years ago my family and I went to Australia for 21 days .  When I got home my sisters and I got our things, put them in our suitcase, said goodbye to our grandparents and other family members and went to the airport, then left.

Once we were on the plane I already started to get a headache for some reason but I survived.  We finally arrived at Australia’s airport,and it looked lovely. When we got out of the airport. I saw my Aunt in the car waiting for us, we went in the car and she drove us to my nana’s house then she left.

I saw nana and her husband sitting outside, I said ‘’hello’’ and gave them hugs and kisses so did my parents and sisters.  We went in and it was really hot. My parents and grandparents were talking about my sisters and I.
Later outside in the terrace, my mom cut my hair to make it short.

Nana gave us $10.00 each for when we go to the shops.  After we then said ‘’bye Nana and Papa!’’ and went to my Aunties house.  

Naturally, we greeted our cousins and their lovely ginger cat then we went in our swimsuits and went in the pool which was at the side of their house.  After all the fun time we spent with my Aunt,cousins and grandparents we went back to the airport and went to NZ

=I would say 3 out of 5

=I partly disagree because you can learn new words in the game and its really cool and has adventure in it and also mystery in it and you also get to rate things people show you,like a type of paper that you get to read,Also it helps you know in the future you will know how to get ride of an asteroid that comes to earth.

to know real information from 'fake news'.

=(1)Always look in the sky just in case theirs an asteroid
(2)Make sure in the future you have a rocket ready for when theirs an asteroid
(3)Always have more people with you to stop something that's coming after you planet like an asteroid or something else like meteor's,because more people means more help
(4)Make sure to report the news person so they can report everyone so THEY can report their family who didn't hear that there was something coming
(5)When your in class you need to learn or at least if you have time you will need to learn how to stop a asteroid that is coming or what group you need to join that are experts in asteroids (those people may be scientist)

Explanation/Argument on what we did!

What Mrs Dines said:
The task we did independently after some discussion based around the idea
that other groups including the Department of Conservation (DOC) are working
to take action that will see NZ predator free (By 2050)


Today I participated in and hello Online discussion based around
the how I felt about the view of a group of people known as,nature
watcher’s, who believed animals that are called pests by the predators
free group should be treated with respect.


Animals that are called ‘pests’ by the Predator Free groups should
be treated with more respect
Four days ago, Mrs Dines told us to form a group and discuss or argue
about if we should 1,Agree to respect pests 2, Disagree to respect them
or 3, Partly agree/disagree to respect them,. After we had to independently
go on this site where it looks like a blog for groups. Then we had to type
down why we agree,disagree,partly agree/disagree to respecting and
treating them well.

I agree because…...
I believe that pests should be treated with more respect and love because
people might of already have them as a pet and are upset because of what
people are saying,also they were made by God and we should love them
because how he loves us!! I agreed that we should respect ''pests'' because
cats are ''pests'' and I love cats and I would be heartbroken if I was only
aloud one pet! They should respect ''pests'' because they are like normal animals
that people have for a pet but people don't treat them with love because of how
they are named ''pests'' or they just hate them for no reason


''Pests'' should be treated well because some pests are really nice and doing what they are
supposed to do in order to live like us but in different ways and some also help kill the
annoying things that are bugging you for example: a cat will kill a mice in your house
so you don't need to freak out yet they are both ''pests''. We should respect ''pests'' because
some of the ''pests'' are native animals like birds. And lastly they should be treated with
respect because they are like normal animals and humans but in this animal way.


Safe playing in the Playground,Field,Court

What does safe playing look like?
Safe playing looks like people not punching,pushing,kicking and making people end up going hospital

Why do we need to play safe on the playground,field and the court?
We need to play safely because

In the court when you play soccer and it's wet you can easily slip and maybe injure yourself or they will push you or make you trip over and you could end up going to the hospital!

On the field when your playing non stop cricket you could accidentally get hit really hard with the tennis  ball and get really injured.

In the playground we should play safely because when you play tag or if you are climbing something you could get hit instead of a pat on your back when playing tag or they can push you and you fall down, or when you climb you can fall down from the high thing you climbed

In the court when we are playing soccer and it's wet we can take a break from soccer and do something else,if they push you then try to remember you have arms to make you not fall on your face, and instead you be in a push up position.

On the field once you play non stop cricket make sure to dodge or you can catch the ball if it's about to hit your face or any other part on your body.

in the playground we can tell them the rules about playing tag and if they don’t listen then you keep on telling them so they will follow the rules of tag. And if your about to climb something that you're probably not aloud to climb you should think before you do it.

Facts about Saint Paul!

l.I-we are learning to find some facts about St Paul’s life back then
  • -He was a christian persecutor.
  • -he got blinded by God and then he changed and God named him Paul
  • -He went almost around the world preaching the good news
  • And also telling people about Jesus.
  • -He got stoned to death and sent impression? (i’m just saying what the movie said I think)
  • -In prison he decided to write the New Testament (so he technically wrote most of the bible)

Things I think don’t fit in the facts:

Duffy Assembly



Today we went to the hall for Duffy Assembly where we saw a guy named Henry/Harry (but i'll just go with Henry)
He made us laugh when he told us when he went inside a place that he thought was a DVD store,grabbed a DVD case,opened it and saw there were no DVD so he went to a woman at a desk,and told her that the DVD was stolen she said it's actually a book.He also told us that he wore his underpants outside his pants because he thought he was a superhero but the neighbours said ‘’no you are a clown’’ it made us laugh.

He also made us laugh by telling us when he was reading a book in the library really ,peacefully until..this girl was talking so loud he closed the book,got up,went to find the person talking and saw them talking tapped the them and she turned, around  and he did a weird face at the girl but then she left so he felt sad and ended up crying for….7 DAYS 14 HOURS 21 MINUTES and 10 SECONDS!!!! he says he felt better by reading a funny book.


It's been a long time since he's seen her but then...he went back to the library heard loud talking,went to the person who was talking,tapped her on the shoulder feeling real confident and the girl turned around saw him looking confident and did this weird pose. He said ‘’can I ask you a question’’ she said ‘’okay’’ and I thought he was going to tell her to stop talking so loud but instead..it was ‘’are you finished reading that book?’’

We all laughed but then she dropped the book and went out with a really weird sad face! He says that she cried for-7 days 14 hours 21 minutes and he told us to guess we all said 10 but he was like ‘’no it's 11 seconds’’ we laughed so much!!!

And after Xavier thanked them and Hope took a photo with the help of Punipuao and we all headed back to school laughing and giggling.

Spheres/Ecosystem!

The 4 spheres of the Earth are-Geosphere,Biosphere,Hydrosphere,atmosphere


  1. Geosphere-The Geosphere is thing that don't live,like the skeleton of our earth,The Geosphere is the rocks and the soil,the places where it mostly is,is the cannons,mountains and everywhere.
  2. Biosphere-Biosphere is the living things,like animals,sea creatures,plants,trees and even us anything that is alive is from the Biosphere.
  3. Hydrosphere-Hydrosphere is water,the places where it is,is the rivers,lakes,ponds anywhere that has water is from the Hydrosphere it is also like rain as well.
  4. Atmosphere-Atmosphere is air,it's the wind we feel for coolness when it's hot,it's also oxygen by the help of the Biosphere.

Sentences/meanings

L.I-I have been learning about the parts of speech
  • Verb-For the cross country people they run and some would stop and have a break and walk and run again.        
  • Noun-If your a princess you have to get a book and put it on your head a walk without letting the book fall.
  • Proper nouns-My best best friends name is Moonia because I mostly spent time with her
  • Adverb-Sometimes when people play soccer you get to keep on running to get the ball.
  • Adjective-By best best friend Moonia is a girl with lovely brown eyes,and always has a ponytail and is so nice and mostly shy when it comes to speaking up one questions in class.
