Flags

Flags  27/2/18
W.A.L.T we are learning to analyse symbols and images on the flags
of countries that link to the identity of students in room 8.


New Zealand flag:
The four stars on the New Zealand flag represent the
constellation
of crux
The New Zealand flag is the symbol of the realm,
government and people of New Zealand.
The colour blue is part of the Royal Navy

  • The NZ flag was adopted in 1902
  • The red and white cross is a union Jack
  • NZ flag used to be a british flag


Scotland flag:
The X on the flag of Scotland  is also known
as St Andrews cross.

  • The blue on the flag represents  the sky
  • The  flag can sometimes be referred to as the
Saltire or the Saint Andrew's Cross.








Samoan Flag:


The four white stars on the Samoan flag
represent the Southern Cross Constellation.
  • The flag was introduced on the 26th of May 1948.
  • The Samoan flag was adopted in February 24th 1949
  • The colour blue on the flag represent
freedom and the colour red represents courage.


German flag:


  • The people of Germany call their flag
Bundesflagge or Deutsche Flagge

  • The Germans flag was adopted in 23 may 1949
  • The colour of the german flag is black,red and yellow
  • The German flag colours is the colours of the eagle
  • The colour black is the black eagle
and the colour red is the red beak and the colour gold is the
golden claws.


Chinese flag:

  • The chinese flag was adopted in September 27 1949
  • The Chinese flag called 五星紅旗 in chinese
  • The big yellow star represents the Communist party
  • The four little star represent the four social
classes of the traditional Chinese society

  • The designer was Zeng Liansong
