Ash Wednesday

Lent:

Lent is the time of 40 days and 40 nights.People put ashes on other people.Lent is about sharing what you have with the poor.Fasting can mean eating less and giving away what you don’t need.Lent is a time of conversion.Lent Is the time of the liturgical year.The purple colour that father has represents Lent.

Ash Wednesday:

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. The ashes from Palm Sunday which were burnt,were mixed with the holy water and the oil. Then Father puts the ashes on people’s forehead,making the sign of the cross and he says a prayer. Father wears purple because it is Lent.
